I heard that everyone can get a free credit score check from the government once a year. If so what website can I get it at?
The report is mandated by the government and free once per year all three bureaus. You can go to annualcreditreport.com to get the report
The best practice is to get a new report each quarter from each bureau that way you can keep an eye on the whole year.
You can get free scores creditkarma.com. Keep in mind there are literally dozens of types of scores. Some predict likelihood to go bankrupt, others to default on a home or mortage.
The important thing is to consistently monitor a consistent score since almost all credit scores are correlated to each other.
its not off the government its from a company called experian. this is the main company that other companies use to check your credit history. go to http://www.experian.co.uk and sign up to get your free credit report. it only costs £3 normally.
You are entitled to get your credit report free once a year, it’s not through the govt. though but through the credit agencies. But it’s a federal law they have to provide it free once a year. You can call their 800 number for each credit bureau and have it mailed, or go online think I go to freecreditreport.com, have it saved on my email so not sure at the moment. Check the 3 agencies sites, they’ll usually have a referal link to the main site. The 3 agencies are Experian, Trans Union, and Equifax. Found the site I’ve used:

Just be careful, they have lots of pop up ads that try to get you to buy the credit protection and all that crap-don’t buy any of it. Also, you can view it for up to 30 days I think, but for some reason, last year it wouldn’t let me after a few days. So print it out right away after you sign up.
AnnualCreditReport.com is the site set up to get your free credit report from all three credit bureaus. This is the site approved by the FTC.
The reports are free but the score is not. Scores are proprietary and you have to pay. You don’t really need your score. If you are only interested in your score, go to MyFICO.com. You get your real FICO score and not the Fako scores used by 2 of the credit bureaus.
